So Fresh and So Clean

Friday, April 26, 2013

Today is Friday. Usually on Friday nights Dave and I watch a movie or have friends over, or something a little more exciting than our usual day to day stuff. Unfortunately for me, Dave is away tonight at a church activity and I'm home with the cuties. Around 8 pm I started to put them to bed, which went pretty smoothly considering the fact that I had to lure them away from the ipod. They were so awesome with teeth brushing and didn't put up their usual fuss. They listened nicely during prayers and stories. After I left the room I could hear them wishing upon the stars outside their windows. "I wish for a car and a dinosaur." Guess who said that? "Joseph, you're not supposed to tell anyone your wish. I'm going to make a wish, but I won't tell you."  Now guess who said THAT?

After the littles finally settled down, I decided to have some me time. Oh how glorious that was. It's been a while since I really pampered myself... ok, I didn't really even do that tonight, but I did take extra care. I busted out a moisturizing face mask and let it do it's magic for about 10 minutes. Then I washed it off, applied eye cream and a skin repair serum. I have to say, I feel refreshed and girly, and at 8 months pregnant, and feeling like a cow most days, this was exactly what I needed. What girl doesn't love a moisturizing face mask?

Next week my plans are to get my hair cut and go for a manicure and pedicure. With the warmer weather on it's way (and a baby) I figured it would be perfect timing for all those things.

Can't wait!

Olive Garden is Amazing!

Friday, April 19, 2013

Earlier this week we took Uncle Mike to the airport in Buffalo and of course, made the usual stop off to the Olive Garden. Usually when we do this, it's just Dave and I and we leave the kids with grandparents, but this time, we decided to let them join in on the fun. Rosie, who has the greatest memory ever, knew exactly where we were going even though she's only been there twice ever. "The restaurant with the grapes on the sign!" We went in and Rosie was beyond amazed at the restaurant experience. I guess I forgot that she hasn't been to many sit down restaurants in her life. We usually eat at Ikea, Costco, Wendy's... you know, all the classy places. The last sit down restaurant she went to was an all you can eat buffet, which so isn't the same. The first thing that amazed Rosie was the fact that the waitress would bring unlimited bread sticks. "I can eat 100 bread sticks and she'll keep bringing me some?!" I think if all she had were bread sticks, she would have been happy. The second thing that amazed Rosie was that she could have pasta made to order, meaning she could choose her shape of pasta and choose her sauce and toppings. She ordered shell pasta with alfredo sauce and a side of grapes. "This is so yummy Mommy! It's amazing!" The last thing Rosie loved was, well, let me just tell you what she said.

Rosie - "We left all our messy dishes"

Me - "That's ok, someone will come and clean it for us. That's why we love going to restaurants. You don't have to cook anything or clean up anything."
Rosie - "you mean they don't make you do any hard work? That's so great Mommy! We should always come to the garden restaurant!"

I think Rosie just found her new favorite place to eat!
